When purchasing a gecko from Sargent Geckos, ALL payments must be finalized before shipment or local pickup by the buyer of the gecko. Currently NO shipments for geckos are available at this time.

We have the right to refuse any sale for any reason. No sale will be made to anyone under the age of 18.

Payment:

Types of Payments:

  • Online Sales - PayPal, Zelle, Venmo or Bank Transfer

  • Shows/Local - PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Square or Cash

Payment Plans:

  • 30 day payment plans are available for geckos $400 or above (not including shipping), once full payment is received (no later than 11:59pm CST on the 30th day after the initial 25% deposit) then the gecko will be shipped or be available for local pickup for the buyer.

    • Payments can be made as often as you would like as long as it is within the 30 day payment plan time frame.

    • Deposits are non-refundable. If full payment is not made by the end of the 30 day payment plan then the down payment is forfeited.

    • If full payment is not made by the end of the 30 day payment plan then the amount paid over the down payment will be converted to a store credit.

    • It is the Buyers responsibility to make sure that payments are made within the 30 day time period.

    • If buyer does not fulfill a payment plan within the 30 days then the buyer will not be eligible to make purchases using payment plans on any other geckos sold by Sargent Geckos.

  • Geckos under $400 (not including shipping), must be paid in one full payment.

  • All geckos are on a “first come first serve” basis. No geckos will not be reserved without a 25% deposit of the ENTIRE purchase price, including the shipping cost. If full amount, including shipping, is not paid within the 30 days of the initial down payment, Sargent Geckos will re-list the gecko for sale and will keep the 25% deposit.

    • Once a deposit is made, we will then place that gecko “On Hold”, Sargent Geckos will not accept any offers made on that gecko. The “On Hold” gecko will be placed back up “For Sale” after 30 days if the remaining balance has not been paid in full.

    • In the unlikely event that the gecko placed “On Hold” were to fall ill or perish, all balance paid including the 25% deposit will be refunded (This is the ONLY exception!)

  • Payment plans/deposits CANNOT be transferred to another crested gecko within the Sargent Geckos “Available Geckos” album. No cash refunds!

Shipping/Receiving/LAG/D.O.A.:

Shipments:

  • Currently NO shipments for geckos are available at this time. Local Pickup/Show Pickup ONLY for geckos.

  • Shipping geckos is weather dependent; proper weather conditions (“Safe Temperature Range”) must be between daytime of 80°F and nighttime of 40°F.

  • Shipping charges depend on the buyer’s location. All shipping supplies are included in the quoted sales price.

  • Buyer MUST provide an accurate shipping address.

  • All shipments of geckos will be sent to a FEDEX HUB holding facility closest to the buyer’s provided address.

  • Safe shipping conditions are always at Sargent Geckos’ discretion. We may choose to not ship your gecko at anytime Sargent Geckos’ feels it is too unsafe to do so (i.e. increased holiday shipping volumes, inclement weather, natural disasters, etc.).

  • Shipping damage claims must be made with the carrier/shipping company. Sargent Geckos will provide any additional/necessary information to aid in the loss claim. Following the claims case resolution with the carrier/shipping company, Sargent Geckos will work with the buyer to come to a reasonable resolution.

Receiving:

  • Once a gecko is received by the buyer, the gecko’s well being is the buyer’s responsibility.

  • Concerns regarding health must be reported to Sargent Geckos within one hour of timestamped delivery (provided by shipping facility) or Live Arrival Guaranteed is void! Check the “Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)” section for more details.

  • If a gecko arrives deceased Sargent Geckos must be sent a photo proof within an hour of the timestamped delivery time. If photo proof is not sent within the hour of the timestamped delivery time (provided by shipping facility) then the Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) is void.

  • If you have any questions about husbandry or care, we will be more than happy to help guide you in the right direction.

Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG):

  • Live arrival is guaranteed, assuming the following:

    • Temperatures must fall within the specified range of proper weather conditions (“Safe Temperature Range”) must be between daytime of 80°F and nighttime of 40°F during shipping.

    • Sargent Geckos will check the temperatures of the departing facility, mid-way holding facility, & receiving facility before shipping the geckos. If weather is deemed unsafe then the shipment will be held.

    • If the weather near the Sargent Geckos location, mid-way facility or the receiving facility by the buyer does not have proper weather conditions (“Safe Temperature Range”), Sargent Geckos will hold your gecko(s) until a safe deliver window.

    • If the gecko shows signs of illness or perish within 48 hours of purchase, buyer must inform Sargent Geckos within 48 hour period.

      • In the case of an illness, a report from a licensed veterinarian must be provided within 72 hours of the reported illness.

      • In the case of death, a necropsy should be preformed by a licensed veterinarian and must be dated and signed within 24 hours of the animal’s dealth, buyer must also inform Sargent Geckos of the expired gecko and intentions to have a necropsy preformed. Proper storage of the expired gecko will result in accurate necropsy results; expired animal must be chilled (NOT frozen) and delivered to a veterinarian within 24 hours. If necropsy results show a prior/pre-existing illness that caused the death of the gecko, Sargent Geckos must receive the necropsy results and then work with the buyer for an agreed upon solution (i.e. store credit, credit towards another gecko, or replacement gecko at equal value).

  • If a gecko arrives deceased, Sargent Geckos must be sent a photo proof within an hour of the timestamped delivery time. If photo proof is not sent within the hour of the timestamped delivery time (provided by shipping facility) then the Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) is void, NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Live arrival Guarantee (LAG) is NOT guaranteed if concerns regarding health is not reported to Sargent Geckos within one hour of timestamped delivery (provided by shipping facility) or Sargent Geckos is not notified about an illness within the appropriate time frame above.

D.O.A’s:

  • If a gecko arrives deceased, Sargent Geckos must be sent a photo proof within an hour of the timestamped delivery time. If photo proof is not sent within the hour of the timestamped delivery time (provided by shipping facility) then the Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) is void, NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Photographic proof is required in all cases! At Sargent Geckos’ discretion, we may require the buyer to return the expired animal to us. Once Sargent Gecko’s has completed our investigation, compensation will be given in the form of either a store credit or a gecko of equal value. Cash refunds will not be given under any circumstances.

Gecko’s Appearance:

Colors:

  • Any photos or videos on our website provides a clear and accurate representation of the gecko featured in the photo/video. We also use the best lighting available.

  • Colors of our geckos are NEVER edited in any way! ALL pictures are true to life.

  • With all the information about being said, we offer no color guarantees.

  • Keep in mind, different computer(s), phone(s), iPad(s) or any other electronic devices, can display colors in a slightly different way. Rest assured, the gecko you see on our website is what the gecko will look like in person.

Nose Rubs:

  • Geckos may become stressed during shipping and rub their nose on their shipping containers to try and free themselves.

  • This is not a medical emergency, most nose rubs can be resolved within a shed or two.

  • Sargent Geckos are not responsible for any nose rubs that maybe caused during shipping.

Tails:

  • Geckos that drop their tail is a natural process out in the wild. Some species grow their tails back (Sarasinorum Geckos) but others do not (Crested Geckos).

  • While it is very rare for a gecko to drop their tail during shipping, it can still happen.

  • If a gecko drops its tail while still in Sargent Geckos care before it is shipped, the buyer will be notified, but no refunds or exchanges will be offered.

  • No refunds of any amount will be made on a gecko that drops its tail after it is purchased.

  • Tail dropping does not harm, devalue, or change the genetic lineage the gecko in any way, therefore no discounts or gecko replacement will be given for dropped tail geckos.

Sexing Policy/Pore Sexing:

  • Any gecko listed for sale on our page as “Male” or “Female” are guaranteed to be what they are.

  • All geckos are considered unsexed until they show obvious signs of being male OR reach a size that we are comfortable confirming them to be females (~25 grams for Crested Geckos; ~35 grams for Sarasinorum Geckos). These geckos will be labeled as “Unsexed”.

  • We can pore sex younger geckos with ~90% accuracy if you are interested and Sargent Geckos will inform you if it is possibly male or female, but these predictions are only predictions and do not guarantee that the gecko will be that sex when it reaches maturity.

  • No refunds or exchanges will be given if the “Unsexed” gecko that is purchased as “Unsexed” matures to be a different sex than what you were hoping for.

Genetic Deformities/Pet Only Geckos:

  • Sargent Geckos goal is to breed healthy geckos and improve the captive bred population. However minor deformities can happen due to any number of possibilities such as: formation issues during incubation within the egg, any genetic issues/mutations, etc.

  • Any geckos that Sargent Geckos uses for breeding does not display any health or structural concerns. If any do, they will be immediately removed from the breeding program. If these geckos are removed they will be sold as “Pet Only” geckos and is not to be bred under any circumstances.

    • If the “Pet Only” gecko is resold again, it MUST be marked/sold as “Pet Only” by the next buyer, the selling party will assume the responsibilities of the future buyer to uphold to not breed that gecko for any breeding purposes.

    • If any “Pet Only” gecko is found to have been bred or apart of a breeding program weather intentionally OR by negligence, Sargent Geckos has the right to possess the gecko from the buyer with no refunds.

  • “Pet Only” geckos will not have any lineage provided and the Buyer must comply/agree that they will not breed this animal upon purchase. All “Pet Only” geckos should not be bred or sold with the intention of being bred under any circumstances!

  • All geckos from Sargent Geckos are free of health concerns/genetic conditions unless specifically mentioned.

Proven Geckos:

  • Geckos that are marked as “Proven” have successfully produced viable offspring for Sargent Geckos.

  • Due to a number of factors within the environment affecting the ability to breed, Sargent Geckos are unable to guarantee geckos sold will produce offspring in conditions that are different than our own.

  • Breeding geckos are purchased at the buyer’s own risk, the buyer understands that the geckos have produced viable offspring for Sargent Geckos but may not do the same under the care of the buyer. The buyer will not hold Sargent Geckos accountable for geckos (“Proven” or otherwise) that do not successfully reproduce in the buyer’s breeding program.

    • In cases like this, please reach out for advice on any husbandry or environmental changes that could be affecting the reproductivity of the gecko.

  • If gecko is purchased for breeding purposes, breeder agrees that they will not breed that gecko for at least 90 days so the gecko can acclimate to their new environment.

    • Buyer also agree to NOT breed geckos that are considered too young/too small to safely produce offspring.

      • Sargent Geckos follows and enforces the community guidelines as follows:

        • Females: no younger than 2 years old AND at least 45 grams weight

        • Males: no younger than 2 years old AND at least 40 grams weight

Ethical & Humane Treatment of Geckos:

  • Buyer agrees to provide humane treatment and conditions of geckos purchased from Sargent Geckos.

    • Appropriate housing with proper humidity, temperature, space (appropriate size for specific age of gecko), and decor.

    • Regular access to water and to species specific food (Gecko Diet and Occasional Insects).

    • Clean/Sanitary living conditions.

    • Access to veterinary care if an illness/injury occur.

  • Buyer also agree to NOT breed geckos that are considered too young/too small to safely produce offspring.

    • Sargent Geckos follows and enforces the community guidelines as follows:

      • Females: no younger than 2 years old AND at least 45 grams weight

      • Males: no younger than 2 years old AND at least 40 grams weight

  • Sargent Geckos places responsibility on the buyer to uphold the ethics and humane treatment of the geckos purchased from Sargent Geckos!

  • Failure to comply with the ethical and humane treatment standards above will result in the refusal of any future sales!

Refusal Of Sale:

  • Sargent Geckos has the right to refuse sale to anyone at anytime.

  • Sargent Geckos reserves the right to not specify a reason for refusing a sale.
